Guitar Lessons For Small Children
We recommend a good age to start guitar lessons is 6-12 years old. Children who are between the ages of 3-5 years, are not ready to handle the technical and physical demand of the instrument. Their hands and fingers might be too small to grab chords and press the steel strings that sound the notes on the guitar. From our previous experience most of the children that were taught between this age group were not able to handle the 30 minute lesson. After 15 minutes their mind would wonder off & show no interest in continuing the lesson. Therefore we recommend your child start guitar lessons at a later age when he or she has matured enough to handle the physical and technical demands of the instrument. However some children are more mature than others for their particular age group. If you feel this is the case with your child, you are more than welcome to have your child attend one lesson. We will assess your child and let you know if he or she was able to handle the lesson and if it is worth continuing taking guitar lessons on a regular basis.
